"Kavi" Nominated for Oscar

Everybody thought India's hope for Oscar 2010 was over when AR Rahman's song from "Couples Retreat" failed to make the nominations.But still we can expect an award for an Indian Connection, because an Indian Story "Short Film" named as "KAVI" will compete with other films for Oscar. This film is about a small boy Kavi who works as a slave and this film also explains the passion of the boy, i.e to study and play cricket.


This film is directed by Gregg Helvey a a part of Helvey's University of Southern California thesis project and it is a 19 minutes movie. This film will complete in "Short Film" category and it will compete with films like,

The Door, directed by Juanita Wilson, James Flyn
Instead of Abracadabra directed by Patrik Eklund, Mathias Fjellstrom
Miracle Fish directed by Luke Doolan, Drew Bailey and
The New Tenants directed by Joachim Back, Tivi Magnusson.
