Ponniyin Selvan is the famous novel written by Kalki Krishnamurthy and it was released in 5 Volumes.This is considered as one of the Greatest Novel in Tamil and moreover this is also the favorite one for great legends like Rajinikanth, Kamalhassan etc. Ponniyin Selvan depicts the fortunes of the Chola Dynasty, during the 10th century.

As I said earlier, all these are speculations in the internet about the budget and cast, but it seems Ponniyin Selvan will be Maniratnam's next movie.
