2008 was a fantastic year for Tamil Film industry since many great films like Dasavatharam, Varanam Ayiram, Subramaniyapuram etc. were released and to everyone's surprise Subramaniyapuram competed with the other two hug budget movies and won many awards. Directed by Sasi Kumar, this is a story of 1980's which involves Gangster fight and also a love story. Most important highlight of this movie is the melodious song called "Kangal Irandal" and this song was a huge hit, thanks to the music director, James Vasanthan.
